Secondary Schools Come Together For Young Leaders Programme

Secondary schools from across the diocese came together for the second year of our CAFOD Young Leaders programme.

Young Leaders September

Schools from across the Hexham and Newcastle diocese gathered together

The schools gathered at St Mary’s Catholic School in Longbenton on Thursday September 28 for the first of three training days.

The programme offers students an opportunity to take the lead by volunteering for CAFOD and make a difference by fighting poverty and injustice.

Young Leaders helps to bring alive Catholic social teaching in practical ways.

There were pupils from Year 7 up to Year 11 involved

The training, delivered by Sarah Burrows from CAFOD, offered students a great chance to meet new people and gain confidence, skills and experience.

Our next training day is in January 2018 at St John’s secondary school in Bishop Auckland.
