Children from St Oswald’s enjoyed many fun activities

Schoolchildren from St Oswald’s primary school enjoyed a film night and non-uniform day, as well as donating their unwanted pennies.

The money generously donated will go to CAFOD’s Lent appeal, which this year is focused on the story of a Zambian woman called Florence and the theme of turning little fish into big fish.

School chaplain Maria Wilson praised the children for their fundraising. She said: “Our children are always extremely generous, we’re overwhelmed with people that want to help.

“The children are always queuing at my door wanting to help and we let them lead the fundraising as much as possible.

“The film night was great and the children brought their blankets – it was like a sleepover at two in the afternoon!”
