Jeremy Cain appeals for people to help bring some energy to our latest campaign.
The government may have changed but the needs of people in the global south have not. One in five of our brothers and sisters around the world don’t have the electricity they need to power school, clinics, homes and businesses, so we’re asking our leaders to support energy provision for the world’s poorest people.
There’s lots of ways EVERYONE can help us to do this but right now we’re especially keen to hear from people who live in Darlington, Easington or Stockton North who would be willing to become CAFOD MP Correspondents and write to their Members of Parliament three or four times a year.
We’re also looking for volunteers willing to get your parish community involved in what we’re doing. That might be putting up posters, getting people to sign petitions or even gathering a group of people to lobby your MP during our Speak Up week of action in October.
Get involved and you’ll know you’re making a real difference to our world. Join us. We’d love to hear from you!
